Lab results usually arrive before your doctor's explanation does — and a flagged value at midnight can feel alarming. This guide helps you read your portal with calmer eyes until we talk it through together.
Reference ranges are not pass/fail grades
A range shows where most healthy people fall. Being slightly outside it often reflects hydration, recent meals, exercise, or normal variation — not disease. Trends across visits matter far more than any single number.
Three questions that clarify almost anything
When a value is flagged, ask: how far outside the range is it, has it moved since last time, and does it fit my symptoms? Those three answers separate “watch and recheck” from “act now” in the vast majority of cases.
What we do within 48 hours
Every result at Juniper Ridge is reviewed by a clinician within two business days. Normal results get a portal note; anything needing action gets a personal call and, when appropriate, a booked follow-up before you even have to ask.
When to call us first
If results mention critical values, or if new symptoms — chest pain, severe headache, sudden swelling — appear while you wait, call (808) 555-0111 for urgent guidance or (405) 555-0128 for anything else. Never sit on worry over a weekend.
Waiting on results now? Message our care team and we will walk through them with you.
